For the reverse auto adjust you have to have the r/l slide switch, slid to the passenger side and when you engage reverse it should go down, if you have no control at all of the mirror i would say the switch is faulty.

Check The Fuses Then Look At The Door Remote Switch In The Driver Door If There Is Power Going To Them Then The Switches Need To Be Replaced/Please Rate My Response Thank You Very Much.
3 series & 4 series. Inside the drivers side door jam you'll see the wiring from the door to the engine compartment, disconnect this from the door (only two screws) and check this connection point. It moves when i adjust the mirror using the electric control.
